Crashes
This app won’t even open, just crashes at the end of the tutorial. Whats up with that?
Just purchase 2 swanneye cameras and proceeded to download this software as well as the IOS version of it to be able to use the cameras. The Mac version crashes all the time and is almost un-usable. The one on the ipad is not much better. Will be returning the cameras today and start looking for a better alternative.
Sorry, but you guys seriously need to do better than this. It CRASHES. it DOES NOT WORK. all of swanns software makes it nearly IMPOSSIBLE to connect and get up and running.
Swann has really gone down hill…
This app simply does not work. and the andriod app is unstable as well….. shame… Apple should yank this application.
AS OTHER USER SAYS! JUNK TOTAL WASTE OF TIME!
Dont bother downloading this is a piece of junk! Does not work!
Stupid App
Very stupid App, not work and I will return this camera for the seller !
The title says is all. It was a royal pain to setup (even tech support told me I had to get a Windows computer to finish setting it up, but I worked on it some more and finally got it working). There is pretty much nothing positive to say about this software...horrible interface, many functions don’t work, mipsellings and other graphical mistakes, I can’t imagine anyone tested it before it was released. Too bad I am stuck with their cameras, so I have to try to make this crap work, but so far, not good. I would avoid Swann products at all costs.
I do a lot of reviewing for a website, so I was interested to see what Swann had available for the Mac and iOS. I used this app to set up an ADS-460 SwannEye HD Wi-Fi camera, and it took numerous tries, resetting the camera, and two hours before I finally got everything working … somewhat. What’s wrong with the app? First, it appears to have been written by a non-English speaker, as the startup splash screens have some very interesting uses of language “More info, more solicitude” being an example. But this thing is just REALLY bad. It crashed numerous times on a Mavericks machine, kept “losing” the LAN connection, although the WAN connection was still working so it HAD a connection. Regardless of how many times I tried to set an administrator password, the only one I could use (different from the Swann registered password) was their default camera admin user name and password (“admin” and “123456”) — trust me, if you get stuck, you’ll want this information that’s from the Instruction Manual. At one point the app wanted to update the firmware on the camera, but I was right in the midst of writing my review so I cancelled it. I was never able to find a way to get it to ask me to update again. The sound monitoring function didn’t work, either. And why have buttons for controls that don’t work on certain cameras. Either make an app that works specifically for a certain camera, or set up your app so that it hides buttons that won’t work with one model of camera. I could keep going, but I won’t. It’s just a poorly written app and a relatively poor camera, too. Thumbs down on this app.
The software may or may not support my camera (a SW-WIFIPTX) - the camera box says it does but their web site does not list the camera as supported by the software. This is the only software they publish for the mac - so if it does not support the camera, they lie on their camera box about working with Mac. The software asks for things like EID and VCODE that are not included with the camera, on the box, or on the material inside the box. You cannot register an account through the software without an EID and VCODE. As a WIFI security camera, the camera fails - it does not connect to an upen wifi network on power up. It does connect through a wired connection, but the software (including the iPhone software) will not connect to the camera. Other than seeing that the camera is connected (by seeing it via my router) there is no way to access the camera win the network.
I have tried for 3 days now to get my camera installed after calling Swann and they tried telling me the camera was defective so I returned it…GUESS WHAT??? I have the same problem have been told for THREE days that they will have someone from level 2 tech support in Austrailia call me back to help walk me through setting it up, and of course NO call!! I am going to return their junk to the store and go with a different brand!!!!!!!!! This says its MAC compatibile but if its just such an easy hook up then why is it still not recognizing my camera…..JUNK!!!
